ACL 2024 Workshop on Privacy in Natural Language Processing

Privacy-preserving data analysis has become essential in the age of Large Language Models (LLMs) where access to vast amounts of data can provide gains over tuned algorithms. A large proportion of user-contributed data comes from natural language e.g., text transcriptions from voice assistants.

It is therefore important to curate NLP datasets while preserving the privacy of the users whose data is collected, and train ML models that only retain non-identifying user data.

The workshop aims to bring together practitioners and researchers from academia and industry to discuss the challenges and approaches to designing, building, verifying, and testing privacy preserving systems in the context of Natural Language Processing.

Principal Applied Scientist, AGI Personalization

As a Principal Scientist in Amazon’s Artificial General Intelligence division, you will have deep subject matter expertise in the area of large language models and generative AI. You will provide thought leadership on and lead strategic efforts in the personalization of conversational assistant systems, including but not limited to retrieval augmented generation of large language models across a wide range of context providers, privacy and bias/fairness considerations in personalization, work with product, science and engineering teams to deliver short- and long-term personalization solutions that scale to millions of users and a variety of different conversational assistants.
