Alexa & Friends features Pradeep Natarajan, Alexa AI principal applied scientist

On October 28, Pradeep Natarajan, principal applied scientist in Amazon's Alexa AI team, joined Jeff Blankenburg, principal Alexa evangelist, on Alexa & Friends to discuss his work with Alexa and the significance machine learning has had in the field computer vision and deep neural networks.

Natarajan authored or co-authored multiple papers accepted at several conferences in 2021, CVPR, ACL, and his EMNLP 2021 paper, "FewshotQA: A framework for few-shot learning of question answering tasks using pre-trained text-to-text models."

Natarajan joined the Alexa AI team in November 2018 and has been working on developing computer vision technology to enhance Alexa's voice based interactions and leveraging large language models.

Natarajan received his PhD at University of Southern California in 2009 and worked on developing action recognition systems when there was very little literature available. He was the principal investigator for a team participating in DARPA's Mind's Eye program and the IARPA Aladdin programs. Natarajan has been working in the area of computer vision and machine learning for almost 20 years.

Our insights and recommendations leverage heuristic and machine learning models to simplify the complex tasks of forecasting, outcome prediction, budget planning, optimized audience selection and measurements for media planners. We integrate our insights into user interfaces and programmatic integrations via APIs, ensuring reliable data, timely delivery, and optimal advertising outcomes for our advertisers.
